Stage III

Stage I: Initial Recovery

1

The foundational phase focuses on passive range of motion and protecting the surgical site during the critical initial healing period.

Time Frame: Weeks 1-3

Rehabilitation Focus: Emphasizes passive shoulder range of motion exercises and active exercises for hand, wrist, and elbow.

Key Details: Supervised by a physiotherapist; includes progressive flexion, external rotation, and internal rotation, performed up to four times daily.

Stage II: Active-Assisted Exercises

2

This transitional phase introduces controlled active movements while maintaining protection of the healing tissues.

Time Frame: Weeks 4-8

Rehabilitation Focus: Active-assisted shoulder exercises with restrictions on external rotation (20°) and abduction (90°).

Key Details: Exercises continue for about 4-6 weeks; initial surgical implant is removed after radiographic confirmation of proper healing.

Stage III: Strengthening Phase

3

The advanced phase focuses on rebuilding strength and preparing for return to full functional activities.

Time Frame: Weeks 9-12

Rehabilitation Focus: Introduction of isotonic strengthening exercises.

Key Details: Restrictions on terminal active shoulder range of motion and stretches are lifted by 12 weeks; unrestricted sports activities can resume by approximately 16 weeks, based on tolerance.

Device

(IMU + EMG module)

Stage I

In the first 3 weeks post-surgery, the focus is on passive shoulder range of motion exercises

Stage II

From weeks 4 to 6. During this period, active external rotation and abduction are restricted to 20° and 90°

Exercise Tailoring

Exercises are tailored to each Individual's range of motion, focusing on recovering pain-free movements and achieving the specific movement goals for their stage of recovery.

Muscle Patterns

Muscle pattern are recorded with respect to every movements

Muscle Activations

Muscle Activation and Recruitment, Strength Weakness:Performance Optimization enhancing technique and ensuring that the correct muscles are being engaged

Stage III

Between weeks 9 and 12, isotonic strengthening exercises are implemented to build muscle strength

Muscle Patterns

Muscle pattern are recorded with respect to every movements

Exercise Adjustment

Exercises are tailored to each individual's range of motion, focusing on recovering pain-free movements and achieving the specific movement goals for their stage of recovery

Personalized Exercises

Analyze and comparison of EMG results of every stages and excersises are shuffled to target the muscles based on the recovery of Individual

Results

Results highlight the range of movement, recovery from stiffness, targeted muscle strengthening, and the percentage of recovery relative to the uninjured hand
